About the Series

Series Information:The whole series is one epic story which is broken up into separate books. There are time jumps between the different Arcs, but each builds heavily on the story in previous books. This series by Janny Wurts, is subdivided into five Arcs. Arc I - The Curse of the Mistwraithforms its own Arc. Arc II - The Ships of MeriorArc III - Alliance of LightArc IV - Sword of the CanonArc V - (forthcoming) Song of the Mysterieswill form its own Arc. Suggested reading order for the satellite short stories: Child of Prophecyprecedes Mistwraith by about five centuries and shows the antecedent action that feeds into the political deadlocks that exist as Mistwraith opens. Reins of Destinycan be read anytime in the Alliance of Light Arc. Sundering Staris best read before Arc IV, as bits in Child of Prophecy and Sundering star come into play as Arc IV opens up. Note: The bottom volume listed here is the original US hardcover edition that contains both books in Arc II.
