Biography

William Kent Krueger is a New York Times bestselling author known for his popular Cork O'Connor mystery series. Born in Torrance, California, Krueger grew up in Oregon and attended Stanford University where he earned a degree in English. After working as a laborer, social worker, and freelance writer, Krueger found his passion for writing and published his first novel, "Iron Lake," in 1998, introducing readers to the character of Cork O'Connor, a part-Irish, part-Ojibwe private investigator in the Minnesota northwoods. The series has since spanned over a dozen books, with Krueger earning critical acclaim for his vivid storytelling and well-developed characters. Krueger's work has garnered numerous awards, including the Barry Award for Best Novel and the Anthony Award for Best First Novel.
