Biography
Timothy Zahn is a bestselling science fiction author known for his work on the Star Wars universe. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Zahn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in physics. He began his writing career with the publication of his first novel, The Blackcollar, in 1983. Zahn rose to fame with his creation of the character Grand Admiral Thrawn in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. His Thrawn Trilogy, consisting of the novels Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command, is widely considered one of the best Star Wars book series ever written. In addition to his Star Wars work, Zahn has authored numerous other science fiction novels, including the Conquerors Trilogy, the Quadrail series, and the Cobra series.
