Robert B. Parker (1932-2010) was an American author best known for his popular detective series featuring the character Spenser. Born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, Parker earned a Bachelor's degree in English literature from Colby College and a Master's degree in English from Boston University. Parker's career as a writer began in the 1970s with the publication of his first Spenser novel, "The Godwulf Manuscript." Over the following decades, he went on to write over 40 novels in the series, earning a reputation for his sharp wit, fast-paced dialogue, and vivid characterizations.
