Clive Cussler is a highly acclaimed author known for his popular Dirk Pitt series. Born in Aurora, Illinois in 1931, Cussler always had a fascination with the sea and adventure, which is reflected in his novels. Before becoming a full-time writer, Cussler served in the United States Air Force and worked in advertising.
